About Campaign Lab

Campaign Lab is a network of progressive technologists and campaigners focused on campaign innovation. Founded in 2018, we operate through a small paid team, a committed group of volunteers, and a wider network of campaigners, technologists and progressive organisations.

We are an experimental, research-driven organisation. We research, innovate, test and embed effective tools and practices to strengthen progressive campaigning. Our work includes applied research, pilot projects, hackdays, and partnerships with MPs, campaigners and progressive organisations.

About the Role

Campaign Lab punches well above its weight. A small team drives a broad and ambitious programme of work spanning applied research, technology innovation, community building and efforts to strengthen trust between political actors and the public. To do that well, we need outstanding project management at the heart of the organisation.

This is a role for a genuine all-rounder: someone who is energised by variety, comfortable with ambiguity, and determined to keep complex, fast-moving work on track. You will work across Campaign Lab’s priority areas, picking up projects wherever the need is greatest and driving them forward with rigour and pragmatism.

We will shape this role around the right person. Depending on your experience and interests, you may take a lead on particular workstreams, whether that’s research operations, technology projects, stakeholder engagement, or something else. What matters most is that you are highly organised, proactive, and deeply motivated by our mission.

Key Responsibilities

Project and programme management

  • Manage a portfolio of projects across Campaign Lab’s priority areas, including research, technology innovation and public trust initiatives
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines and workstreams, ensuring clear ownership and accountability
  • Identify and manage risks, flagging issues early and adapting plans when priorities shift
  • Keep the team focused and organised in a fast-moving environment where multiple things are happening at once
  • Support leadership in planning and prioritising work across the organisation

Budget and operations

  • Manage project budgets, tracking expenditure and ensuring resources are used effectively
  • Support financial reporting and contribute to funding proposals where relevant
  • Help strengthen internal systems and ways of working as the organisation grows

Relationships and partnerships

  • Build and manage relationships with partner organisations, technologists, researchers and others across the progressive ecosystem
  • Act as a reliable and professional point of contact for external partners, representing Campaign Lab with confidence
  • Drive the coordination of collaborative projects involving multiple organisations

Technology and innovation

  • Engage actively with Campaign Lab’s technology and innovation work, bringing curiosity and enthusiasm to new tools and approaches
  • Stay informed about developments in political technology, AI and digital campaigning, and help the team think through implications and opportunities
  • Support the scoping, delivery and evaluation of technology pilots and experiments

People and management (depending on experience)

  • Depending on experience, take on line management responsibility for staff, supporting their development and day-to-day work
